Hank wants to move Citrus County
forward for a BETTER future!
I was born in Brooklyn, New York, I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Correctional Administration and a Masters Degree in public administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
My wife, Lenore, and I have been married 40 years. We relocated to Florida in 1998 and reside in Citrus Hills.
Job Experience and Background:
Retired from the New York City Department of Correction with the rank of Assistant Deputy Warden. In that capacity, I served as second in command of security and investigations at the largest correctional institution on Rikers Island. Subsequently, after this assignment, I was transferred to the Manhattan Court facility as second in command. At that time, the Manhattan Court was the busiest court facility in the country, perhaps in the world.
Also, while in the Correction Department I received:
. Certificate of Achievement in legal research from the NYC Correction Department.
. United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement training - DEA.
. NYC Police Department Internal Affairs training.
After retirement from the Department of Correction, I worked as a supervisor in a child welfare agency known as the Angel Guardian Home in Brooklyn, New York.
Education:
. Masters Degree in public administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, New York.
Military:
US Air Force from 1966-1970.
While in the Air Force, I was an air traffic controller. Perhaps my most memorable experience was from November 1967 to December 1968 when I was a member of a team of air traffic controllers who ran the B52 bombing raids over North Vietnam. At that time, and probably still now, air traffic control was rated the most stressful job of all.
. Vietnam Veteran
. Honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Organizations and Affiliations:
. Life Member VFW
. VFW Post #4252, Hernando
. American Legion Post #155, Crystal River
. Citrus County Veterans Coalition - Served as Judge Advocate on the Board

As your sheriff, Hank’s number one goal is to keep the citizens of Citrus County safe, and be the guardian of your constitutional rights. So there will be no decrease in services to the public. A zero-based budget will be implemented, which radically improves the way expenditures are tracked. The current sheriff refuses to implement this type of budget, which is known to save money, and says he will not be micromanaged by anyone.
Hank is determined to bring fiscal accountability
and integrity back to the Citrus County Sheriff’s
Department.
